Hello everyone and especially to all you mothers and expectant mothers! I think Mother's deserve to be celebrated every day of the year for their hard work and unconditional love to those they care for. It makes me so happy that one day a year is set aside to show our appreciation for our mother's. I feel utlimately blessed for the mother I have. She is tenderhearted and has always been there for me and my 11 siblings! Yes, she bore 12 children and in my eyes is the strongest woman I have ever come in contact with. I pray that one day I will be like her and if anyone ever tells me that I resemble her either in looks or personality that is the highest compliment for me. She is a Godly woman and prays for her children and her grandchildren (50+) each day! We are so blessed to have her in our lives.
So, in celebrating mothers and expectant mother's at Prairie Blossom this year I have come up with a three-step contest for you.
1. I invite you to simply leave a comment on this blog post to be entered for a chance to get a gift! I will be giving away three gifts. First prize will receive a $60 gift certificate, second prize a $30 gift certificate, and third prize a $15 gift certificate. You will have until Wednesday, April 13 to enter here so pass this link on to anyone you think should win.
2. Five people will be randomly selected using random.org. When five people have been selected they will be required to submit a brief story about life as a mom, or about your anticipation of becoming a mom. If you would like to surprise your mother with a gift from Prairie Blossom tell us a bit about your mother and why you would like her to win. Or if you have a friend who is a mother and think she should win tell us about her. Stories need to be submitted to prairieblossomboutique@yahoo.ca. Deadline will be Wednesday, April 20.
3. Five stories will be published on my Facebook page for everyone to vote for the winner! Top three votes will win prize 1, 2, and 3. Voting will take place from April 20 until Wednesday, April 27.
So get your chance in by commenting below! Good luck everyone!

ReplyDeleteI would like to post this for my mom for Mother's Day! Throughout the years, she has had to struggle to maintain a healthy and stable living environment for me. While I am now 21 years old, I have had many challenges growing up and she has supported me in so many ways, from always being there to lend an ear, to making me understand that I was the most important person in her life. In addition to always taking the time out of her busy schedule to take care of me, she took care of my grandmother up until she passed away ten years ago. Since then I feel that things began to be even more of a struggle and challenge for her. My mom raised me as a single parent from the time I was six years old, all while working two jobs and taking care of our home. The word "no" is seldomly used in her vocabulary. She is always willing to lend a hand or do someone a favor no matter how exhausted she is, and always does it with a smile. She lost her ex-boyfriend tragically three years ago and then she met the most amazing person who cares so much about her and about me as well. Just when things started to look up for her, she was faced with almost losing her boyfriend as he faced a life-threatening illness. As many times history repeats itself, she is taking care of him as he is currently disabled. I often question why these things had to affect my mother and when I confront her on this, she always reminds me that there are people worse off than her and she is thankful that she is able to do what she does. She is always optimistic and lives her life feeling that she is doing the best she can to make things easier for others and many times I feel like she neglects herself. She always puts everyone else's needs before hers and I just want her to know that there is no one in this world who appreciates her and loves her more than I do! I hope to one day repay my mom for all of the things she has done for so many people, and for always being the light of my life! Happy Mother's Day, Mom! I love you, Mark
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I am a mom of a little boy in his terrible twos, it is definitely not easy going to school, being a mom, and keeping up with my little man but it is so worth it!!

ReplyDeleteI know it’s a bit late already, but I wish even an expecting father can have a say in this. Haha! Anyway, it’s good to hear that you hosted a contest like this to recognize the existence of a powerful woman in the world: our mother. I hope you’ll be hosting one again this year.
